This is a longer post, fair warning...We had a poor experience using our Sightseeing Flex Pass in NYC. When we arrived in the city we went to our first destination...the 911 museum and learned we should have gone to the main office in downtown NYC to pick up some sort of ticket. So we paid our entrance there. On our way back into town, we found the address for an office in the bus depot. When we arrived, the person behind the desk didn't know what we were talking about or how to help us so he sent us to another location, several blocks away. When we got there, the young lady behind the counter rudely informed us that our pass should have worked and we wouldn't have anymore problems using it. The next day we went to the Met. The same problem happened again! By this time, we're 3 days into the trip and we've bought 5 experiences, used none. After the Met, we returned to the same place that we'd been the day before to see if they could down grade our pass to 3 experiences and return some of our money. They wouldn't do that, saying that because we'd gone through Viator, a 3rd party, their hands were tied. Needless to say, we used 3 experiences out of the 5 and decided to never go with this pass again. I did see lots of people using NYC City pass getting into these venues without any problem. I'd go with them!!
The offer was great with great attractions. However, I would have expected easier access to the attractions. Everytime we needed to get tickets, somewhere not where I was expecting. I would have expected that with the Viator pas we could just enter the attraction without getting paper tickets, going to different offices while not every office issued tickets for each activity e.g. the one at Planet Hollywood, not very customer service oriented......
