I specifically looked for a luau that focused on authenticity, and this one did not disappoint! Of course, any of them that market to tourists is going to be less authentic than the community-based luaus, but if you aren’t local, good luck finding one of those. This one is the next best thing! Family run, beautiful, sacred setting in Waimea Valley, and very intimate and friendly. Smaller than the splashier shows, but terrific interactive experience, with wonderful food and fun, excellent entertainment. Recommended!

Toa Luau is just special and in a class of its own. This is a luau that doesn't focus on making money and is more concerned about giving the guests a great experience. They limit the number of guests and limit the number of shows in order to make sure everyone has a good time. I appreciate that they welcome everyone the same regardless of your "tier" you purchased. Everyone gets a flower lei and the difference is just where you are seated. The layout of the theater makes it so that everyone can see and enjoy the show. Prior to the luau, you are allowed admittance into Waimea valley and I do recommend you take advantage of this. Normally, I don't actually think it is worth it to pay to go into the valley, but when it's included in the cost, then definitely go. It's a nice little stroll on a paved path to a waterfall at the end where you can jump in and have a swim. The botanical gardens are well manicured and the scenery is beautiful. After taking a dip, we had enough time to change and line up to check into the luau. Once the luau begins, there are a bunch of activities outside for you to try. We wish there was more time to do all these activities! This is always the most fun being more hands-on. We enjoyed the education provided on how Hawaiian's used to build a fire, make their ovens, cook their food, and even climb a tree. The Chief and his family then welcome us grandly before starting the show. The show is beautiful and all the dancers are amazing! They go through each different region and demonstrate the differences in their traditional dance. We absolutely loved this luau and recommend it whole heartedly for a small intimate luau where you will truly feel like you are an honored guest.

Lual embraces polynesian culture authentically well amzing experience great food and a very enjoyable day out. Learnt alot about the local history and cultural history of the polynesian people through the different island. Treated to an amzing show. Highly recommend getting the gold tickets VIP tickets looked great but the "gift" would have caused us issues taking back home?
