We are sheepishly writing this review as it should have been done immediately upon our return to Portland, Oregon. We took a trip to Boston and coastal Maine in mid September and the highlight of our trip was the Freedom Trail walking tour with Caitlin Johnston. After weeks of telling our friends at home what a great tour it was, we're finally getting down to business and passing on well deserved accolades. Caitlin did an incredible job of reviewing our country's history as it related to the development of Boston and the colonies. As we walked the Freedom Trail she delighted us with succinct yet informative details of our history. She was dressed for the part (a shopkeeper from the late 1600s) and told the stories to us as if we were speaking directly with someone from a bygone Era. It was a wet and humid day in Boston, but I think everyone on our tour was so enamored with our guide and the history she unveiled, we didn't notice or care. Bravo Caitlin! This is a must do tour for anyone visiting Boston. Marit & Joe

Caitlin Johnston has a wonderful way about her. She has a beautiful voice and could easily be heard over the hustle and bustle. Her stories made history come alive as though we were experiencing it firsthand. Highly recommend her tour!

My husband and I bought our tickets through Groupon for $15. We met at the Visitor Center at Boston Commons, which was perfect as there are restrooms inside the visitors center. Our guide "Abigail" (I don't know her real name), was perfect! Dressed in period garb, knowledgeable, and quite funny, she made the tour incredibly interesting. You can walk the tour on your own, but it's so much better with someone who knows the backstory. The tour ends at Faneuil Hall, so we ate lunch and then continued on to Bunker Hill by ourselves.
