We went to see Super Nintendo World for our twin's 21st birthday. It was crazy crowded, but we expected that. The twins thought it was absolutely amazing and they loved it - said it felt like they really were in the land of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser.
Universal Studios Hollywood is not that big, especially in comparison to the park in Orlando. I recommend Orlando over Hollywood but Orlando does not have SNW yet. We went two days, got there around 7:30am each day with park opening at 8:00. The first day was rainy so it was crowded, but nothing like the 2nd day when it was sunny - park was PACKED! We were able to get in to SNW before they instituted the reservation policy (they do this when it gets really crowded). I recommend getting the Power Up Band at store on the way into the park. If you go to store inside SNW it will delay you getting in line for ride/activities.
First thing you do is make your reservation for Toadstool Cafe if you want to eat there. The reservations fill up fast. Then get in line for Bowser's Castle. We went through the Single Rider line first, which was really fast, but we missed all the cool things inside the Castle and missed the instructions for the ride. I recommended waiting it out for the ride the first time you go, then hit up the Single Rider line for additional rides. The 2nd day we waited in line and went through the Castle and it was neat (not as good as Harry Potter, but still good). After you go on the ride, prepare to wait in long lines for the other things to do with the Power Up Band. There are 4 activities and you have to complete 3 of them before you can go into Bowser Jr's Challenge. Each activity has a long line!
We ate in Toadstool Cafe and that was another waiting experience. We made our reservation at 12:45. By this time, there were reservations needed to get into SNW, so if we hadn't made our Cafe reservation early in the morning, we would not even have been able to get into SNW. Once we got to the Cafe, we waited in line for 45 minutes to even get inside to order. Once we ordered (which cost our family of 5 $150!) we waited almost an hour for the food. You sit at a table and servers bring the food to you. No refills on drinks so be prepared for that. We wanted to try different parts of the menu so we had the garlic knots for appetizer, then for entrees had the Mario burger, Luigi chicken sandwich, and spaghetti. Everything was good but not over the top amazing. They were pumping food out of the kitchen, and our food was not hot - just warm - when we received it. My daughter said the spaghetti was spicy! The best part was the Super Star Lemon Squash drink and Princess Peach's cupcake - both were delicious! The tiramisu was average and they were sold out of the beanpole cake.
Overall, it was a good experience if you are prepared for all the waiting and all the people! My guess is that when they build the Orlando experience it will be bigger and better than the California experience!
