Railway cars were clean and well serviced. Gentlemen that provided narration were well versed. Service for drinks was excellent. It’s pricey but we felt worth it. Not sure kids would have a genuine interest in this ride. The ride we took was 4 hours in length. You cannot bring food except what is purchased at the station on the train which is pricey. The box snack provided with our tickets was very good. Would definitely recommend this trip with lots of great views and very comfortable both inside and outside. Once you book seating it slated so you don’t have to worry about lining up. No bad seats. Highly recommend this trip.

This is a very touristy activity. They tell you to arrive 1 hour before departure which is to accommodate the buses and large groups, but also to spend some time in their gift shop. We specifically asked for the 2 seats with table on right side of train. We booked several days in advance and the lady who issued our tickets when asked if we had the 2 seats on the right assured us it was! She lied to us once on the train our seats were with two strangers on left side. Once on the train our car was the Yuma and our attendant was Nicky. She began yelling at the top of her voice about the toast and selling alcohol she really pushed the alcoholic beverages. We decided immediately after leaving the station to sit outside on the open air car which you share with another car so two cars empty on to one open air car. If you sit you will have people standing in front of you the entire 4 hours. This activity is not for everyone. If you enjoy drinking, loud people, and looking at rock formations you will enjoy this activity.

On our website we clearly state that there is no guarantee of seating, and that you could share your space with other passengers. Overall we find that people make friends and share the communal experience of seeing this untouched canyon.

Abbey the bartender and Mark the historian were AWESOME. We felt very taken care of and those two made the trip and did an excellent job. The history was accurate and thoughtful and not cheesy. Abby is super nice and we felt so taken care of. I do not drink alcohol and she was so kind to look after me and see if I needed anything. She offered to make every drink non alcoholic and was so friendly. The trainee on board was pretty distracting to the group because she wasn't following the tone of the others, she was trying to make the ride a party. She didn't seem to care about the beauty and the surrounds, she just wanted a party. Whereas Abby and Mark were trying to make sure we were having a good time, learning about the history, and making sure our questions were being answering. 5 starts to Abby and Mark. The Trainee on board was as train wreck.
