Holy moly. The highlight of our trip to the Sedona area. Don’t bother with the fancy wine or brew tours…just do the basic. It comes with lunch, charcuterie and a full bar in each car. Bryon was our open rail car ‘guide’….literally a walking encyclopedia. Knew every inch of the canyon. Neal was our bartender and kept the drinks coming! Trip is 4 hours so not sure I would bring young kids….we are empty nesters so just the two of us.

Very friendly and competent staff. They made the trip very enjoyable. Chris was manning our car (Yuma) and did an excellent job. History narrated by Garry was always interesting.

The overall ride was a plus with an enjoyable and comfortable train and friendly efficient employees. The scenery was beautiful and serene. I saw two problems with the trip. I wanted to hear the narrator throughout the train ride but the noises from the train and the fellow passengers were too much to let narration be heard. Many museums I’ve visited have provided a recorded device that allows you to hear everything. I think this would be a great solution to this problem. The second issue is the free lunch that came with train ride. The very nice appetizer servings were plenty to eat and a very attractive tasty serving. A lot of the appetizer serving was wasted because we’d gotten pre-paid lunch. The package offered on line included the pre-paid lunch and didn’t give me the option of turning down the lunch. I wish I’d enjoyed the appetizers, but I was too full
