We booked first class seats which came with a glass of champagne and snack tray of deli meats, cheese, crackers, fruit and a brownie. Well presented and good quality.
Seats are assigned to you by the ticket office. Single seats facing each other with table between on right side of car (when facing forward) and sofas facing each other with table between on left side. When the train reaches the end, it reverses and returns on same track. The best view is on right side, you can ask but no guarantee on getting those seats.
Arrive at noon at the station to claim your tickets and buy lunch if you want. The cafe food was excellent. There was a long lineup to place orders so come early or eat elsewhere before you arrive.
Boarding at 12:45 pm, departs at 1 pm. No backpacks allowed as there is no storage space for them. Also you can't bring alcohol on the train so if you buy a cocktail at the station, finish it or they'll ask you to pour it out before you board. Alcoholic drinks are sold on the train.
The seats were comfy, the scenery was great, the covered open air car was nice for the view, to take pics or just be outside.
The one disappointment - the narration audio in our car was terrible, we could barely hear it. Fortunately our attendant, Heather, was on it, pointing out clearly and loud enough for all of us to hear, any info that we were missing. She was friendly, attentive and made the whole experience more enjoyable.
Overall, we enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend it!
