Ugh! We took the Atlantis Sub tour in Maui a few months ago and hoped this would be equal or better. WRONG! What an absolute waste of money. I wish so much I could get a refund and I'm embarrassed I brought my family. I'm currently making a list for a friend who's heading to Oahu of things to do and NOT do. This Waikiki Atlantis Sub trip is on the AVOID AT ALL COSTS list. The Maui tour inside the sub at least had a plaque to help identify different types of fish we'd see, NOT at Waikiki. The Maui tour-guide gave us a lot of information about the wildlife, the area, what we were seeing. This tour-guide droned on about NOTHING of importance. The Maui trip was much longer and more thorough. Each side of the sub got a substantial amount of time to observe the sunken wreckage. NOT WAIKIKI! Everything was rushed. We hardly saw ANYTHING which they can't control, but when there was stuff to see we passed it quickly and moved on to VAST AMOUNTS OF NOTHING! VOID!! SAVE YOUR MONEY! WARN OTHERS! NEVER GO HERE!!! If you wanna waste money, burn it or throw it in the sea, its the same as taking this ridiculous, short, empty, worthless trip.

It was very interesting being able to see a sleeping turtle on a sunken ship. The guides were very good at pointing out the fish we were seeing and just basic information about each site that was visited.

My family was glad that we were able to do the submarine tour this time. Last time they had to cancel the tour and it was on the day we were going home so we missed out. You have to check in at the desk in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village (on the beach side). They then send you to the dock so you can board the boat to the sub. They have ample seating, and we didn't have to wait a long time before boarding. It's about a 15-20 min ride out to the sub. Then you are in the sub for about 45 mins. I will say they went up on price from 3 years ago (as have many places in HI). However, it's definitely not worth the price they charge (about $168/adult). Obviously they can't control the amount of sea life you will see. However, "structures" you see are ones they put down their themselves. I wasn't too sure what to expect. I thought maybe we would actual ship wrecks or other relics that have fallen to the bottom of the ocean. It's hard to explain, but I feel like for the price you pay it wasn't quite as over the top as I thought it would be. It's something to do once if you can, but unless they change their route, it would probably be the same if you go again.
