A Safe and Tranquil Taste of the Wailua River

This three-hour guided tour is a wonderful paddling adventure for the whole family, idyllic paddling on the Wailua River Great panoramic scenery with the landscape and natural history genuinely and safely explained by your water borne guide.

The Wailua River became the center of activity for early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii’s two most sacred places.

At night, it is said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby surf. This tour is perfect for those who want a “taste” of this wonderful river.

We took a “Wailua River Kayak and Hike to Sacred Falls” tour today. Izzy was our guide and she was absolutely fabulous!! This five-hour tour was a perfect blend of river kayaking, jungle hiking and swimming in the pool at the base of a 125-foot waterfall. Izzy was extremely friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable about the vegetation in the jungle, as well as a lot of the sacred Hawaiian traditions and history of the area. We feel very lucky to have spent the afternoon with Izzy as she went well above and beyond her role as a guide. If you decide to book a tour with Kayak Kauai, be sure to request her as your guide.

Mahalo! My family joined Izzy for a tour to Sacred Falls. We had so much fun completing this trip. Izzy is very knowledgable about Kauai and does a wonderful job sharing her love of the island, traditions, and the river. She even gave us a tip for an awesome Lilikoi Cheesecake that is a must try! Thanks Izzy. Additionally, Kayak Kaua'i does an amazing job scheduling and answering questions. The sandwiches we had on the tour were excellent. Thanks for a great adventure!

We loved our sacred falls hike and kayak tour! Justice was our guide and he was super knowledgeable, gave off a chill comfortable island vibe, and was helpful with everything from hiking to tips for kayaking. The scenery is beautiful and this tour is a great way to spend your day on Kauai to learn about the vegetation and get a little active exercise. Would return for sure as we greatly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend Justice and Kayak Kauai!
