A Safe and Tranquil Taste of the Wailua River

This three-hour guided tour is a wonderful paddling adventure for the whole family, idyllic paddling on the Wailua River Great panoramic scenery with the landscape and natural history genuinely and safely explained by your water borne guide.

The Wailua River became the center of activity for early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii’s two most sacred places.

At night, it is said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby surf. This tour is perfect for those who want a “taste” of this wonderful river.

It was a simple kayaking experience for those that do not want more of it than that. There was a couple that needed to leave early so I felt the group had to cut it short.

Aloha MJ., We try to accommodate everyone from slow to fast paddlers and hikers with more or less 45 minute paddle and 45 minute hike one way with the same amount of time spent at the falls. The river paddling is what they categorize as “Class I” flat and languid. Thanks for taking the time to share and for the 4 “stars”. A hui hou, Micco

The paddle was amazing. Logan is the best guide. Viator provided the wrong meet up point and caused us to be late. Luckily the paddle people so very accommodating and friendly!

We booked a kayak tour for Tuesday, Feb 4. When we got there we were the only couple booked for that time, so we basically had a private tour with Jay. We had a great time on the river, it was a beautiful day with a bit of rain on and off. Jay is a great guide! He gave us a lot of information about Kauai and his life on the island. His pride of living in Kauai was very evident....we enjoyed listening to his stories as we paddled and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. When we got back to the dock, Jay brought us some wonderful pineapple to snack on. We will recommend Kayak Kauai and Jay to everyone we know going to the island.
