Johnson Square

We will learn about the beginning of Georgia and tour the original squares. Discuss the Colonial way of life churches, monuments and markers in this area as we journey into a timeline walk of the Historic District. Then our tour proceeds down Bull Street. The tour is one miles of walking and includes stops at Civil War homes, Cemetery, Theaters and famous movie locations.

If you’re looking for a great way to truly see the city & learn about its incredible history I strongly recommend Savannah Belle! From a local’s standpoint (Savannah born & raised) this tour captures some of the most interesting aspects of our city! As far as tours go this one is at the top of the list!

We took the morning walking tour with Savannah Belle Walking Tours and were thrilled that we did. It was the first time visiting Savannah for all 4 of us. Michelle gave us so much history of the city, the battles and just a sample of everyday life in the early years. She makes walking around the city both interesting and exciting. In addition to the historical information, we also received tips on the best places to eat lunch at a reasonable price, dinner "must dos", suggestions of other tours, etc. Overall it was a perfect morning and would definitely recommend. As a side note, I even texted Michelle the evening after our morning tour with a question about a particular place and she responded promptly with all the information I needed. Thanks !!

Fantastic tour. Michelle is knowledgeable and personable. A little bit of everything on the tour - civil war, revolutionary war, history of early Savannah, modern Savannah, movie info (Hello Forrest Gump!), favorite spots to eat. Would DEFINITELY take another tour!
