When visiting Boston, the Freedom Trail is a must-do activity, but why not see historic sites while drinking beer? Join Ye Olde Tavern Tours to see 10 sites on the Freedom Trail-including the site of the Boston Massacre and the Old State House-and grab a drink at 3 historic taverns. Beer and/or hard cider is included in the ticket price, so all you need to do is show up ready for fun.

Our guests want a unique and memorable way to learn about Boston's revolutionary (and drunken) history and for the past ten years, we have delivered. Our guides are expertly-trained historians who are also incredibly personable. Our founder, owner, and frequent tour guide has a PhD in American history and is a two-time author. We know our stuff and are passionate about sharing the most interesting stories.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate experience. Ye Olde Tavern Tours is the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

What a fantastic dose of Boston history viewed liked they lived it, over a mug of beer. The tavern tour was great but the history presented by our guide Megan was outstanding. Read Brooke's book. This group is made up of some fun but really scholarly people. They also know all the special brews made for the bigger bars which is really cool if your a hard core beer hunter.

I took part on Ye Old Tavern Tour and I didn’t want it to end. History and craft beer, two of my favorite things! Very informative, great beer and wonderful company.

Great tour with lots of history. A few things: the second pub is a totally modern bar with LED lighting and lounge seating. I get that it was once an old pub but not anymore. There ARE many old pubs that could take its place. More importantly the beer: it’s short pours of average beers. There are good, interesting beers available at these places but you can only choose from 3 preselected choices (4 at the last place). Here are all the beer choices on our tour: Downeast cider Sam Adams 26.2 Cisco whales tail pale ale Harpoon fresh tracks Harpoon ufo white Switchback ale Sam Adams Sam Adams brick red Mayflower ipa Downeast cider Solid tour. I’d go again and maybe see if they’d let me get something good not on the list :-D
