The Yosemite Valley Hiking Tour is a tour of Yosemite Valley, highlighting major points of interest and visiting popular locations you might see in social media. In addition to providing you with natural and geological history, this tour can point out some of the lesser known ‘gems’ around Yosemite Valley. This is a tour by foot; hiking and walking among the iconic and popular features within the valley. We will use the free valley shuttle as required but plan to hike/walk with your guide while avoiding the valley vehicular traffic.

Our family, two adults and two teens (ages 16 and 15) had one day to explore Yosemite. This tour was the perfect way to do it! Matt, our guide, was excellent, laid back and full of information. It seemed like we were a group of friends wandering the trails, past the granite faces and rushing rivers and waterfalls instead of two families from different countries meeting for the first time. We made our way through Camp Four, past Yosemite Falls and out to Half Dome and Mirror Lake over the course of the day. We had a leisurely lunch by Mirror Lake, with Matt sharing the history of the area, the history of climbing and us sharing more about ourselves. Such an easy-going beautiful spring day, but we still hiked over eight miles! We have enjoyed many tours with our teens, allowing us to learn about the area while exploring a new place together and this tour did not disappoint! Be sure to take time for this one, especially if you are limited on time at Yosemite! And be sure to watch the movie Valley Uprising for more history of the area! I would thoroughly recommend hiring Lasting Adventures to guide you through this beautiful area. Matt was the guide for the day; he is a wealth of information about the history of the park, and is a great hiking companion. He is very easy-going, fun to talk to and very professional. I truly now consider him a friend. I got to see a lot in a short period of time, and his story-telling brought the past alive for me on my first ever visit to the park. He was fully prepared; he had spare walking poles for me in case I needed them (I wasn't sure if I could bring mine on the plane) and spare Yaks for my boots (although I had actually brought mine). He was always extremely helpful, such as taking photos which turned out great, and giving me information about local driving routes and areas of interest. Great work Matt. I would definitely work with Lasting Adventures again.

I normally do not write reviews, but felt compelled to write this one after our experience with the Yosemite Valley Tour, particularly with our guide, Otto. Not only did he blow expectations out of the water, with all the sites he took us to, the knowledge he provided, and the willingness to take photos whenever we asked, but he was also just an extremely genuine person, who showed a true interest in what we were trying to accomplish on this hike, who made sure we were always prepared for what was coming up, and who pushed us to go outside of our comfort zones a few times to take full advantage of everything Yosemite has to offer... we are glad we listened to him! From seeing Mirror lake, to hiking up both the Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall trails, to even crawling into a hidden cave off the beaten path, everything was a new adventure that left us with memories that will last a lifetime. Going into the tour we were hesitant if it was going to be worth it, and if maybe we should have just done our own thing, but by the end of the hike we knew we had made the right call, and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is checking out Yosemite for their first time, or even people who have been to Yosemite before, but are looking for someone who can show them something new. It was clear to us right away that leading these tours and sharing these experiences with new people every day was a passion of Otto's, and it really made everything that much better. Thank you so much Otto for the hike of a lifetime, we will never forget it!
