Przegląd
Splash through Durango with an awesome river guide on the Lower Animas River! This adventure is an absolute must for visitors and locals alike.

Everyone loves this trip for its accessibility, picturesque scenery and rollicking rapids. It’s an adventure that offers a perfect mix of excitement and time to enjoy the sites along the way. We take rafters ages 4+!

Along the way you'll bound through plenty of Class II rapids and an exciting Class III at Smelter Whitewater Park. Class II rapids are "fun and friendly," rolling over the bow and dousing those at the front of the boat. Class III rapids are "wet and wild," usually soaking everyone in the raft head to toe.

Our experienced and entertaining river guides will get you downstream while sharing plenty of stories and fascinating history about the area. You're welcome to paddle with them or just sit back and relax

All trips come with a safety orientation and paddling instructions from the best river guides in Durango.

Dylan, our trip guide, and all of the crew were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They made sure we knew exactly how to handle all the safety aspects and that we were comfortable and had fun throughout the entire trip. I am so glad we chose the Lower Animas half day trip with Mild2Wild. We had a great experience and our two teenagers thought this was the highlight of our trip so far!

This is a great family trip to take! Our guide, Mary, was young but very experienced. She grew up in Durango so she had a lot of interesting details to share on the trip down the river. We booked the one hour with Class I, II, and III rapids and it was perfect! Our older daughter was a little nervous not knowing what to expect but she loved it!! They even have an option for people (including small children and elderly) to get out of the raft before the rapids. Such a great experience for all ages!! I highly recommend!

I loved this experience that our guide Trudy provided for us. She was pointing stuff out that we might be interested in. She was very happy the whole time and very funny. Their sure wasn’t a dull moment on the raft. She was also great with kids she would check up on us and then and be really caring in general. Thanks Trudy for making my family’s rafting experience not one to forget.
