Przegląd
Splash through Durango with an awesome river guide on the Lower Animas River! This adventure is an absolute must for visitors and locals alike.

Everyone loves this trip for its accessibility, picturesque scenery and rollicking rapids. It’s an adventure that offers a perfect mix of excitement and time to enjoy the sites along the way. We take rafters ages 4+!

Along the way you'll bound through plenty of Class II rapids and an exciting Class III at Smelter Whitewater Park. Class II rapids are "fun and friendly," rolling over the bow and dousing those at the front of the boat. Class III rapids are "wet and wild," usually soaking everyone in the raft head to toe.

Our experienced and entertaining river guides will get you downstream while sharing plenty of stories and fascinating history about the area. You're welcome to paddle with them or just sit back and relax

All trips come with a safety orientation and paddling instructions from the best river guides in Durango.

We'll then shuttle over to the river and have a quick safety orientation before heading out on the beautiful Animas River for an hour. I did not want to go rafting, as I’m a bit of a chicken, but my niece talked me into it. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and everyone made us feel comfortable. I was very concerned listening to the directions because everything they talked about was worse case scenario, but I still went, even though I wanted to run away. We chose a class 3 level and it was perfect for the chicken that I am. It was just enough to scare me and we had to paddle a little bit but also a nice floating down the river experience. The best part was our guide, Dillon. His knowledge of rafting was superb and he educated us on the river, wildlife, and Durango. I know we had the best guide. I highly recommend Mild to Wild, and if you can request Dillon.

Our family had the best time on this excursion! Zach was awesome with planning and organizing! Kelsey was a huge help checking us in, she is so sweet and really on top of things! Jeb was the absolute best guide! We have a son with autism that was not thrilled about rafting and to say that Jeb had so much patience with him is an understatement! Jeb was amazing! He is now saying he wants to go back and visit Jeb again! We had a great experience and were very impressed by how organized this company is. It is obvious that great care goes into hiring the very best and making sure customers are treated very well and have the best time! Highly recommend using them to plan out your Durango vacation!
