Our tour guide was great. He used personal stories, played his Native American flute, took us inside a Hogan where a woman was making yarn from wool and weaving rugs and he did a visual demonstration on how the rock formations were made. The sunset on the Mittens was fabulous.

We did the 2 ½ hour tour today with Three Sister Guided Tours, and enjoyed every minute of it! We were hosted by Amory, who has a wealth of knowledge and has stories that keep you interested. At every stop, he had valuable information about the different monuments and sites, and even showed us original rock drawings at two of the sites. He took the time to show us the uniqueness of the meaning of the monuments, the relationship to the Navajo Indian culture, and the connection to the environment. We were lucky enough to be on the tour with just one other couple, and that in of itself made the tour more personal. We toured in an SUV which came in handy vehicles over the open-air during the high winds. Definitely a trip worthwhile and Three Sister Tour treated us right!
