My mom and I had a wonderful time hiking with and learning all kinds of things from our guide Jade! 10/10. Details below! Our hotel was outside the pickup area, so Sam from the company reached out the day before to set up a meeting spot and time, which worked out perfectly for everyone. Then, when we were in the van on our way to pick up others, I mentioned that my mom was very nervous about heights or cliffs, and Jade was so kind to accommodate my mom’s fears. He immediately changed his original planned route (which would have been over a couple bridges) to an equally beautiful trail that did not have any bridges or drop offs that would scare my mom. My mom and I loved learning about all the nature around us, from the trees, to the edible berries and plants, and the animal signs. Of course, wildlife sightings can’t be guaranteed, but we did see (and hear) plenty of squirrels and a ptarmigan! And it makes me smile every time I spot something I learned about on the trails I’ve hiked since!

We really enjoyed our guided walk with Jade. It was super interactive and immersive and we felt really safe walking with an expert. The walk was not strenuous and we had lots of stops to try berries and learn about native plants and trees. This was the best tour we did in the Denali/Fairbanks area.
