Canyon de Chelly National Monument has over 2,700 archaeologcal sites located in the heart of the Navajo Nation. Guests will get to see the ruins tucked into sand stone alcoves and rock art such as petroglyphs and pictographs. Rock formations, fauna and floral provides a perfect backdrop to your tour.

At each site you will hear the symbolic interpretations of petroglyphs and rock art seen along their tour, including occupation dates, archaeology and associated prehistoric and historic events in the vicinity including associated oral histories.

All guides are Navajo and have strong ties to the canyon and will provide you with an experience that will last a lifetime.

We just loved this trip! We had a great guide, Reginald, from whom we learned so much about the region and about the people who have lived here over the years. If you're lucky, Reginald will play his flute for you and show you how the throw arrow works!! I had been apprehensive about visiting the canyon after reading about bad experiences that a few prior visitors had with other tour groups. But we were in such good hands with Canyon de Chelly Tours! The tour vehicle was in excellent condition, and Reginald's driving skills were outstanding. We have been on tours in a lot of special places around the world, including Petra in Jordan, Teotihuacan, and Egypt, and this tour definitely was on par with the best of those. Thanks to Tanya and Reginald for making this such a memorable experience!

My family of 4 did a 5 hour hike with Delvonnia and this was one of the best tour experiences we've ever had. Delvonnia was incredibly knowledgeable and shared with us about her childhood in the canyon, stories about her family, information about plants and the Navajo language and culture. The weather was pleasant during late December, and we felt it was a good time to visit, without as many tourists as peak season. This was an invaluable experience, learning about the Navajo way of life and broadening our understanding of this vast nation. Truly, more than we'd hoped for.

Irene was amazing!!! She was able to share so much information about the history of the canyon and her personal experiences growing up in the canyon! She spoke Navajo to us and was enjoyable to talk to! When you go, be sure to book with this company.
