The views were stunning but we also paid for tour but for the price I would have expected the tilt part to be included, they wanted extra for this. Staff did not seem to be aware of what we had paid for was embarrassing trying to explain. Sorted it out in end but was disappointed that it was headphones and not an actual guide. Should have received a gift which did not materialise. Having said that the views were fabulous especially on the day we went
Arrived just before 9am expecting a long queue but only 5 other people waiting, so went straight up in the lift and had the observation area to ourselves. fantastic views from all four sides of the tower grate photo experience.
The experience wasn't bad. No waiting time was encountered. The windows were clean enough for photos. The crowds didn't really show until sunset. Tripods are not permitted. Getting photos in low level light was difficult. The other difficult parts of the equation were waiting for too many tourists taking selfies and the rambunctious children jumping on surrogate railing used to study the camera. The views to the north (Magnificent Mile), southwest (Navy Pier) and southeast (Loop skyline) are incredible. This was a worthwhile excursion.
