The rugged mountains rise around you like castles. The wide valleys stretch into the distance. The greens, reds, and blues of the tundra create a patchwork quilt unlike any other.

Now pick your jaw back up! There’s more to see, and higher to go! Toil further up the steep ridge. Scramble over jagged rocks. Stroll through dips full of delicate wildflowers. Later in the season, enjoy the bounty of wild blueberries, lingonberries, currants, and more.

This hike is a “must do” if you’re traveling to Denali! We were initially overwhelmed trying to figure out how to tackle a hiking trip in such a vast area. But, Trinidad, our guide, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, he really made the experience perfect. He understands a lot about the plants, wildlife and geology of Denali and was able to answer our many questions. His pacing on our challenging hike was perfect and he navigated us to some amazing views that were definitely worth the effort. I would highly recommend you book this hike!

We had our hike and tour with Trinidad. It was easily the best guided tour I have ever had. Trinidad was a fount of knowledge about the local plants. I learned so much and I carried that information with me on the rest of my Alaska trip. Well worth the cost and enriched the rest of my trip. The hike was strenuous but we took it at a doable pace. An experience not to be missed. I give this the highest recommendation possible.
