I attended on June 25th and if you are looking for a very commercialized approach to a "Luau" with low-quality hotel food and cramped seating, then Royal Kona is for you. The small cast of performers themselves did a great job but it didn't make up for the ticket price. You can find better authentic food anywhere on the island (go to Super J's!). The concourse area is on a slope so expect spilled drinks and uncomfortable seating. The view is great right after sunset but until then, it's directly in the sun so wear extra sunscreen or try to request a table in the shade. They didn't have an Imu Ceremony at the beginning and there was only one fire performance. Highly suggest Mauna Kea Luau or Legends of Hawaii Luau over the "Royal" Kona. P.S., hotel staff started picking up chairs and putting away tables to force you out seconds after the final performer.. a bit sloppy from an event planner's perspective.

We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful sunset and are glad you like the performers. Most memorable for this visit was the way the staff helped with my mom. She has trouble walking and needed assistance getting down to the venue and the parking attendant summoned a security cart to transport her. He went out of his way to see to it that she was alright. Also, when we were leaving she needed help getting to the car and one of the staff got her a chair to sit in while waiting and also helped her up out the chair. The servers while the event was going on we’re very attentive. Over all an awesome staff. They know what customer service is and how to show it. All went over and beyond what needed to be done and I so appreciate it. We had a wonderful time because of it. I definitely will recommend this venue and show to others. Thank you so much for a pleasant and enjoyable time.
