Luau was canceled due to rain. Event staff are contacting TripAdvisor so we can receive a refund. Waiting to see how this process works

When the luau is cancelled due to rain, we do honor a full refund to our guests as no services were rendered. The refund can take some time to reflect since you did not book your tickets directly with the resort. We enjoyed a great night at the Luau last week, the check in was simple, and we were able to pick our seats, the venue overlooked the ocean and the sunset was magical, the lighting of the torches ceremony was also great. The entertainment was first class with the hostess explaining the meaning behind each culture as they came out to dance, the fire dancer at the end was spectacular. The food was plentiful as were the drinks, and the service was attentive. The unveiling of the pig in the fire pit with full explanation was really special. We have been staying in Waikiki for the past week and watched a number of nights from our balcony the luau at the Hilton Hawaii village and are so glad we did ours on Kona. People sitting out in the hot sun on the concrete roof of the car park, no trees, no sunset, no pig in a fire pit and from what we saw average at best entertainment, not sure how it was given the rating it has, not sure either why some reviewers didn’t enjoy the Kona luau Would highly recommend royal Kona resort luau.

We definitely will not forget this experience. It was memorable, but not really worth the price. The food was ok, wish there had been more fresh fruit. When they took out the roasted pig, they asked that room be made for the elderly and kids, in the front - but nobody paid attention, sadly, my 3 year old granddaughter missed that part. The story telling was great! Next time we’ll rent a room overlooking the activities and order room service, or go poolside and get a better view.
