How to get to Denali National Park? There’s no finer way to arrive than aboard Alaska Railroad’s flagship train, the Denali Star. Passengers especially appreciate the panoramic views, as on a clear day the route offers incredible views of the train’s namesake peak: Denali, the tallest mountain in North America. We recommend that passengers made advance reservations for accommodations at the Park, as it is not possible to get to and from Denali from Anchorage by rail in the same day. A return rail journey from Denali to Anchorage may be booked separately for a subsequent day.

Romantic railroad journey. We love train trips and this did not disappoint!! We rode Gold Class and the first thing that happened was a wonderful breakfast served as we rolled along to Denali. Then a great lunch! Plus two alcoholic drinks (and a nap!). We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for luxury and style!

We rode the Alaskan Railroad to/from Denali from Anchorage, spending 2 nights in Denali. We opted for the 1st class seats that included 2 meals each way. The seats are roomy and comfortable, and viewing was amazing! We saw beautiful valleys, mountains, lakes, rivers, and wildlife. The food wasn't bad for Railroad kitchens and the service was great! They provide hosts that call out the scenery and provide interesting buts of information along the way. Our tickets also included 2 "adult" beverages, and the bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. It was a great way to more of interior Alaska.

So many delays on this train and ended up hours behind schedule. No communication from workers about what is going on. No apologies and no offers of reimbursements for the loss of time on our vacation. Will never take this train again.
