A sunset hot air balloon ride on new year's eve was the pinnacle of 2017! It was simply magical. Dean, our pilot, was awesome! His knowledge and friendliness put even the most nervous flyer at ease. The view was incredible and the flight was so peaceful. It was lovely to end with a champagne toast and even more fun to hear the history behind champagne and ballooning. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!

The trip starts at the HQ of Rainbow Ryders where you sign documents and jump on a van with your pilot to go out to the launch site. Once there, the balloon is unraveled and inflated. You jump in the gondola and start to rise. The ride is easy and your pilot determines how high you ride and what your route is. The views are amazing and the ride is very comfortable. Even if you are afraid of heights, it is not that bad. The ride lasts about an hour where you can see 360 degrees of amazing views. Our pilot was a little too conservative for me and we didn't rise nearly as high as the other balloon that deployed at the same time, so I was a little disappointed, but how can I complain about something that is so amazing? After landing, there is champagne and cheese and then you jump in the van to go home. If you are Ubering, you can order one from the landing site...there is no reason to ride back to the office.
