My wife and I had a great time on our "Bitter Minnesota Beer Tour". Our bus driver, Eric, was fun, knowledgeable, and accomodating. He knew all the latest award winners and was excited to discuss the nuances of hops versus malts and the complex flavors, the local brewers are bringing about. The tour offers great exposure to the Minneapolis beer culture and took us to places we would not have gone on our own. To say "I could have done that for cheaper" is to look at a Picasso or Pollock and say "I could have done that." You could, but you didn't. We had a couple of "back stage" tours with the people who are doing the work and it was great to see. The details definitely speak to my beer geek nature. I recommend tasting the "flights" where you can and ask to see the fermenters. Each brewery is different and some are happy to share more than others. "Bitter Minnesota Beer Tours" opens the doors for you. We had a great time and will recommend the "brewery crawl" to all who ask.
We booked on a Monday night and there were no food trucks, do be prepared to order some on your own. The bus did offer water and pretzels between stops but sometime you need a bit more. The last stop on a Monday night, Day Block, has awesome food.
