My husband and I were in California visiting family and got away for a 24 hour whirlwind side trip to Temecula. To maximize our time and savings, we ended up booking a package deal with the place we were staying, Ponte Vineyard Inn. The package included our room and wine tour for both of us. It was a great value! It is so nice not having to worry about getting to and from the wineries, paying for tastings, etc. Plus you get a really delicious lunch!
Our tour group consisted of 14 people and our awesome host, Mike. The bus was very comfy and we loved that it had expansive views with larger windows to look out of as we drove. Mike even had waters and snacks for us and a box for each of us to store our wine bottles purchased.
We visited four wineries and all were beautiful and great. I honestly didn't drink much wine I didn't like. The first stop was Lorimar, where we enjoyed a private tour of the grounds and very generous pours! We had plenty of time to enjoy the tastings and were not rushed. We also visited Cougar, Vitagliano and Somerset. We had another tour at Somerset and even tasted wine straight from the barrel.
To top it all off, Mike went above and beyond for us. One of the couples on the tour mentioned to all of us this amazing bread we just had to try from one of the wineries. We begged Mike to take us there so we could try it. He decided he'd go and pick up bread for us while we did one of our tastings. He did exactly that and it was awesome!
I HIGHLY recommend Grapeline tours, you will not be disappointed.
