Only on Hilton Head and only in Harbour Town can you sail aboard the real America's Cup, 12 meter, Stars & Stripes once skippered by the famous Dennis Connor. All trips take place under full sail. We only use our motor to get in and out of Harbour Town.

  • Stars & Stripes is USCG approved to carry up to 30 passengers, but since COVID we have limited public capacity to 20 passengers.

I was looking for a relaxed sailing excursion for my wife and I and came across this experience on the Stars & Stripes. I have memories of the historic America's Cup race win back in 1987 with Dennis Connor, so I was jazzed that we could have a chance to ride on the very same boat. The booking and boarding process couldn't have been easier. There was room for about 20 guests and the crew of three. It was a pleasure to talk to the captain, Peter, who, as it turns out, is a sailing legend around Hilton Head Island himself. We were able to watch dolphins jump right next to the boat as we sailed out and back in the sound for two hours. There was even an opportunity for myself and several others to man the helm for several minutes. We would absolutely do this again and recommend it to anyone.

We booked the trip a week ahead of time and the morning of the event we were notified the trip was canceled. I asked why and the agent explained the weather looked iffy and others on the trip canceled so there was less than 8 passengers booked. Needless to say we were disappointed.

Great cruise on the Stars & Stripes with Capt Peters! He was very engaging with the clientele and had lots of good stories. Good sailing under almost calm conditions, crossing wakes made by the ferries, etc. Caught some wind on the way back to the harbor that gave us a little list to port! It was great to be in the aft of the boat where all the action takes place!
