We had the best experience booking with Raft Masters. We are both paralyzed and they worked with us as we were traveling alone and wanted to get on the river. I called about 2wks ahead and spoke with Will, Aubrey and Ellie and they all were so helpful in booking this reservation for us. Being that we had no help (no family or friends with us) I wanted to make sure all the details were set before we made the trip from CA. Everything was perfect from the time I called till the time we were done.
They had never dealt with 2 people in wheelchairs without family help but were willing to help us get on the river. Their biggest concern was safety of course, which was appreciated. They had the details worked out. Our guide Able was amazing. He was a nurse and made us feel so comfortable in more ways than just being an amazing raft guide. He was comfortable with our disability and made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. He made the experience even better if that is even possible. The set up in the raft was PERFECT for us and we felt totally safe and secure rafting.
My service dog got to hang out in the office with the staff while I was on the river. There is a boarding kennel next door if your traveling with a family pet.
We are making plans on returning and making a group trip in June when the water levels are higher. We hope to do a full raft day with Able again.
I did call other companies before booking with Raft Masters and by far this was the best professional experience I received over the phone not to mention a great time on the river. If you get a chance book their other tours as we did them all... Jeep tour (ask for Tom), gondola, bridge. If tot out there might as well enjoy.
See you next year Able! Thank you Raft Masters for the amazing experience and the willingness to help us live beyond our wheels.
