Under the Streets Underground History Tour

Przegląd
Go underground on a 1-hour walking history tour through Seattle's original neighborhood. Our experienced guides lead small groups through, and beneath, Pioneer Square to the street level that existed in the 1890s. Explore underground pathways that were built more than 120 years ago, learning details on early Seattle history, why these spaces were built, and how they have been used (and misused) over the years. Marvel at how this once Indian encampment has since transformed into one of the 20 largest cities in the United States.

I spent the wonderful time to see the historical point beneath the ground. The guide person was super. But because of my English hearing skill is not good , I could catch maybe 60 % of his guidance. I hope I can see some paper with the instructions .

Patty, our guide, was great and full of energy. She shared a lots of physical details on the early days of Seattle's development. However our tour spent more time walking above ground than below. We didn't see any under ground corridors between buildings, mostly a few basement areas. But an interesting tour non the less.

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that Patti brought great energy and shared valuable insights about Seattle’s early development. While the tour does include three underground spaces, it’s true that the Seattle Underground is primarily comprised of individual original first story spaces, and we don’t have interconnected tunnels like some other cities. Many of the historic storefronts that once existed have been dismantled over the years, which can limit the visibility of underground corridors.
