We chose the Bellagio, a great hotel for service, amenities and overall beauty. We were very happy with our room. As for the strip, this was my 6th time in 20 years but not for the last 12 years and Boy OH Boy has it changed. it is overbuilt, very busy and VERY EXPENSIVE! Everywhere you go, a bottle of water is $5. There are NO drinking fountains anywhere. My partner had never been to Vegas so he loved it. this, my partner and I walked 5-7 miles daily along the strip. We enjoyed looking at the decor of the various hotels. We gambled, first day I won $1500 and he won $550 which did cover all our expenses. We did not win again. Food was terrific, if you want a buffet for $48 each (Bellagio). We did have a meal in Gilleys (At Treasure Island) and it was awful. Actually, Denny's for breakfast was the best ($40 for two).
Our trip included renting a car and going to Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. Great day trip. We did go to Cirque Du Soleil, (Mystere) and it was fantastic.
