My friends and I joined the south shore food tour. We enjoyed sample sushi, nigiri, and shrimp that was literally out of the ocean. We had street tacos island style and got an inside tour of specialty grocery store. We even got to go in the walk-in cooler to see the 160lb tuna. We learned about making gelato and specialty products made on island. The places and restaurants we visited were unique and the hospitality grand. Michelle was an excellent knowledgeable guide. She even gave us a tip on a great beach to take our bottle of vino from the specialty grocery store and catch the sunset. The tour was worth every penny!

Taste of Kilohana was the best thing we did on the island ! On this tour we took a train ride, fed some goats and pigs as well as the ever present Kauai chickens. We then went into a garden and learned about local fruits, what grows when and tasted a ton of interesting in season Kauai fruit. Our guide Kai, was knowledgeable and just plain fun. He answered every question from our group and then walked us to the Mahiko lounge where the bartender (and so much more) showed us how to make the most amazing Mai Tai. She actually pressed a stalk of sugar cane - even the kids ( who she gave non alcoholic Mai Tai's ) loved this tour ! After sipping our Mai Tai's we were escorted into the private dining room at Gaylord's for an incredible lunch. A total of 3 delectable courses, and a meeting and chat with the chef and pastry chef. What these chefs made for us is not on the Gaylord's menu. The tour was suppose to be 3 hours but lasted a bit longer ( close to 4) as we never felt rushed. If you like food or just want to learn more about Kauai- don't miss this tour !!

A Culinary Romp Through Paradise was alot of F U N! The timing was perfect for us as the tours do not happen that often (monthly), but if you can make the timing work it is a great time. We enjoyed three very diverse experiences, each being special in their own right led by Marta and her husband Dan. We got to learn a great deal about Hawaiian fruit grown on the Kilohana Plantation - Kai, who shared his enthusiastic knowledge was charming. On this special visit we got to try the VERY delicious White Pineapple. It might make your head explode so be careful...it is that delicious. We moved on to a cooking demo at the Marriott. The Exec Chef was not able to attend so his #2 stood in with his team and it was a great time - We ate a three course amazing lunch in a really unique and beautiful location. Third stop was at a The Feral Pig where Dave showed us the magic of three different classic Tiki Drinks. We met a bunch of entertaining people, ate and drank and laughed... it was a blast and not on every tourist agenda! We greatly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend you book it now!
