I asked to cancel and get a refund, but they refused my request. When I came to do the tour anyway, they already sold my seats to someone else. They said Viator told them I wouldn’t come and told me to get the refund from Viator. When I called Viator, Viator contacted them and they told Viator I never showed up. So they want to keep my money and sold the seats to someone else, which was double dipping. I’m instructing my CC company not to pay because this is absolutely a scam. I provided proof in the picture that I called the company 6 minutes before the boarding time at 2 PM to allow me to get on the bus, and then called Viator afterwards when they refused.

To our wonderful future guests, please rest assured that we pride ourselves on delivering memorable and professional experiences and this is a review of this individual’s experience with Viator, not with our Discover Denver Tours team or this tour. We stand behind our hundreds or 5-star reviews on our website, Google and GetYourGuide. Thank you for sharing your experience with Viator, Faye. We sincerely regret the frustration you encountered and want to assure you that we take all guest feedback very seriously. At Discover Denver Tours, our mission is to provide exceptional experiences and seamless service, and we're sorry to hear that this situation fell short of your expectations. Your booking was made through Viator, a third-party Online Travel Agency (OTA) that facilitates bookings for thousands of tours worldwide and your review is for your experience with them, not with our team or tours. Viator retains a percentage of your payment and passes the remainder to local tour operators like us a few weeks after the scheduled experience. While we strive to work closely with Viator to support their guests, we rely on clear communication from both Viator and the guest to manage any reservation changes or cancellations. Unfortunately, in this case, a breakdown in communication led to the issues you experienced. We want to address your concerns directly: • Booking and Cancellation Details: According to Viator, you contacted them and stated, “Regrettably, we are unable to participate in tomorrow’s tour due to an important matter that requires our attention.” Based on this information, Viator informed us that you would not attend. Shortly after, Viator sent a cancellation for your booking on 12/31 (i.e. Viator or you cancelled the booking; we cannot cancel your 12/31 booking), and your name was automatically removed from our manifest through their API system. • Tour Attendance on the Wrong Date: We understand that you showed up a day early (12/30) for a tour other than the one you booked and this 12/30 tour was sold-out tour. While we always aim to accommodate guests when possible, we were unable to accommodate you due to the tour being fully booked. • Follow-Up and Refund Offer: After this situation, we went above and beyond by offering a refund outside of Viator’s standard 24-hour cancellation policy, provided you confirmed the release of your seats. Unfortunately, we did not receive any follow-up from you or Viator on this offer. • Payment Status: It’s important to note that our team has not received any payment for your booking at this time. Refunds and financial matters for bookings made through Viator are handled exclusively by their team, and we encourage you to continue working with them to resolve this matter. • Showing Up After Stating You Could Not Attend: After our team spoke to you on the phone on the afternoon of 12/31, you let us know that you did in fact show up to the tour that you stated you could not attend, the tour your booking was cancelled for, and the tour we have not received payment for. You also admitted you did not let Viator or our team know that you had changed your "important matter that requires our attention" in order to attend. We understand how frustrating this experience must have been, and we truly wish it had gone differently. If you’d like to discuss this further or if we can assist you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly. For the most seamless booking process and direct communication with our team, we encourage booking directly through our Discover Denver Tours website. Thank you again, Faye, for sharing your feedback. We hope for the opportunity to regain your trust in the future. Warm regards, Jill and the Discover Denver Tours Team
