Renting bicycles at Assateague Island National Seashore is one of the best ways to get to know the Island and it's inhabitants. Protected bike paths line the road, about 6 miles in total. Riding a bike through the National Seashore is one of the best ways to experience all Assateague has to offer; secluded beaches, marsh overlooks, wild horses and a plethora of birds. There is no entrance fee for the National Park when entering on a bicycle.

It was so fun biking with our grandkids between the bay and ocean, greeted by the wild ponies and tiny tik deer. After the ride we took a swim and enjoyed ice cream & fries at the Five Tides grill at Assateague State Park. Great day!

2h bike rental. We went around the island (about 10miles in all). Option to add a cart to the front of the bike for free (recommended). It was a great experience. Beautiful landscape. We saw several horses during our hike. We went to the beach (US$5/person). However, we did not see horses on the beach. There were probably too many people. Everything was perfect.
