We really enjoyed our visit here. It was a little tough with the sand in the front of the house pushing my mom in a walker, but the everyone was helpful and the people that worked there were amazing. Our tour guide Ed Hansen in the house really made it super fun. So much fun that we could have spent hours in there. Gloria Ford was in a small area near the slave quarters at the from of the property . Gloria told stories about the Gullah people and the history of her family at the plantation. She sang gospel stories with such a beautiful voice. Make sure you take time at this amazing plantation. Definitely worth the money and make sure to tip your guides.

Boone Plantation was pretty cool and the transportation was great. A beautiful piece of history. The tours were informative, although I would note that some of the presentations and tours were redundant and, in some cases, contradictory. Also, you get a paper with the tour times upon entry. The driver suggested that we go to the hospitality house (the white one) to help us plan out our day. My wife and I thought we could figure it out on our own but were dismayed when we arrived at the House Tour and found out that you HAVE to go to the hospitality house first to "sign-up" for the tour. It only took away 15-20 minutes of our time there, but it was annoying not to know this up front.

We had only 3 hours to see it (tour schedule) and wished we had at least another hour. The house tour by Bill was one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour we had. The tour of the slave houses extremely informative and the lady who gave the Gullah culture was fabulous. Depending on where your staying it might be cheaper to Uber/Lyft there and pay the entry fee instead of a tour bus, and that way tre isn’t a time constraint, and will be cheaper.
