The trip itself was a good way to get an overview of the city. We were on a bus with the infamous Johnny Boston.
I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor and love puns so I should have loved Johnny Boston. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge and much of it was interesting. And some of his jokes were funny. But most of the ride was absolutely painful. His shtick got really old really fast. The dead pan, total lack of emotion thing was really annoying. He repeated a number of his jokes that were kind of funny the first time but were not funny the second time ("that is water under the bridge"). I was wondering if it was just me but my wife, who is used to my bad sense of humor, fully agreed, and it seemed like everyone else on the trolley either was finding him annoying or didn't speak enough English to understand.
We were planning to do the full loop to get a full overview of the city so we could decide where to focus our time the rest of the trip. We were stuck in a fair amount of traffic so it took even longer. I wanted to get off and take the next trolley so I wouldn't have to listen to him anymore but his trolley was full and we would leave stops with a lot of people waiting, so it was unclear if we could get on the next trolley, so we just toughed it out.
