Boutique Old Town Alexandria Food & History Tour

Przegląd
Alexandria, Virginia sits just across the river from DC but Old Town feels far removed with its cobblestone streets and charming rowhomes. When visiting DC, we always suggest that people take the time to explore this little nearby gem!

Enjoy tastings from locally-owned restaurants which contribute to the story we share. Along the way we will visit a classic spot that has been a mainstay for over 40 years; a restaurant with award-winning dishes, and classic bistro with European roots.

Explore the pretty streetscapes, the waterfront, public art pieces, and the architecture while you learn about the evolution of this small city. From the Civil War to Civil Rights to present day, Old Town has played an instrumental part in this country’s history. Come and get a taste of history.

A portion of each ticket sale is donated to Bread For The City, an organization who provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty for DC residents.

We truly enjoyed our tour with Mary! As we walked around Old Town, we learned a lot of interesting info about the history of the area, and of each restaurant that we visited. The food tastings were quite varied and each was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the Meggrolls and the breakfast biscuit, and the gourmet deviled eggs and....really everything. This would be a great experience for visitors to DC as well as folks who live there.

What a fun day!! This was the highlight of our trip. Great way to see the city, learn some history, and have some delicious food! Our favorite food stops were the fried chicken and waffles and the deviled eggs. Mary was such a fun tour guide and helped make the food and city come alive. I would recommend this to anyone- you can’t miss this experience!
