Great visit to Busch gardens, we have been to six flags and cedar point and this was much better than six flags and close to cedar point, all rides running. Yes it’s expensive for food and drink but they all are. Was a fabulous day out.

Disappointing, we were looking forward to going to Busch Gardens on our tour of Florida. We booked a hotel in Tampa especially to go there, to be honest, it needs a lot of work. We did not book tickets online, which maybe we should have, we were met by the most rudest lady which really put a dampner on our day, however, we decided to get over it and make the most of our time there. You pay a lot of money to be in Busch Gardens, it would be easier and less disappointing if you didn't have to pay extra for certain experiences. It's not all doom and gloom, there are a few decent rides, but it is by far a long way off Orlando theme parks, it's sister park Sea World was fabulous. All in all we had an ok day, the weather helped, sadly, we struggle to recommend in the present day, it needs a lot of investment, there is not the staff there, rides are free for all, do not buy fast passes, there is nobody to regulate the queues.

Having previously enjoyed BG in 2010 we wanted to return and see how things had progressed. The ticket we bought online was deemed invalid for admission due to Christmas season having started, they refunded most of the purchase price and charged us double at the gate for entry. We then queued in a long line outside before the gates opened and people were slowly let in one at a time - other parks check your ticket before opening and let you into holding pen where you can get coffee or sit and relax while you wait. Once in, many of the attractions would not open for a while, some not until the afternoon. We also found several had been shut due to damage from the storm 2 weeks earlier. This was not advertised outside or made clear before purchasing the tickets. In addition several attractions are extra cost even after you buy a ticket. BG is basically a small zoo with a carnival attached run by teenagers who are more interested in their phones than the customers. The rides themselves are dated and uncomfortable rather than thrilling having changed little if at all in the last 20 years. Entertainment consisted of a very good cheetah demonstration, and half a dozen xmas songs playing overly loud on repeat through bullhorn quality loudspeakers. After a few hours of this we decided not to waste any more of our time and leave but stopped at customer services to note our dissatisfaction. They were not in any way interested and simply gave us a card with an email address and said to email in. Emailing the complaint resulted in the response that because we had entered the park we were not entitled to any compensation.
