This canyon trip is unique in it's accessibility to canyoneers of all skill levels, including beginners. Think scenic canyon hiking, but the hike is intermingled with exciting rappels down water features. This trip has a little bit of everything- a good workout, a chance to learn new skills, and some free-hanging on ropes to get your adrenaline pumping. And all of it nestled in a beautiful desert setting that is otherwise inaccessible to the public.

So we did a couple of hikes in Tucson and they were beautiful, but CROWDED. Found this "canyoneering" which I had NO idea what it even was, and it turned out to be awesome. It was like our own private hike down a canyon away from the crowds, with our guide setting up ropes for us to go down the steep sections. Had lunch at a beach by a waterfall and we were the only ones there. Also got some amazing photos! Definitely recommended.

I cannot emphasize the truly memorable experience of canyoneering with Altitude Mountain Guides! Last Sunday, Ben coordinated a hike through Tanque Verde Canyon. From the start, I was impressed by the level of professionalism, communication, and passion that was demonstrated. Having no prior experience with mountain climbing or canyoneering, I felt safe and encouraged to explore Tucson’s terrain in criticism-free environment. Our trek lasted approximately 3-4 hours from start to finish. Amazing views and the perfect self-care activity. I look forward to my next booking opportunity and I hope you do too!
