Zoo w Central Parku

Central Park Zoo
The zoo is open every day of the year and features three major biomes: the Tropic Zone, Temperate Territory, and the Polar Circle. From tropical birds, to snow leopards, grizzly bears, and one of the nation’s largest colonies of Antarctic penguins, there are animals to enjoy in every season. We also feature the Tisch Children’s Zoo, a playful adventure for our youngest guests who’ll encounter goats, sheep, some of the world’s most unique ducks, and the only cow who calls Manhattan home. Our goal is to inspire our visitors and connect them to the plight of animals in the wild and the conservation work we’re doing to protect them.

How sad for the heart to visit this zoo. With a lump in my throat throughout the visit, I kept apologizing for Man to all these poor animals. I am attaching screenshots (not possible to post a video) of a grizzly bear that kept making the same back and forth movement with a sort of spasm on its head, it seemed to have gone crazy... the suffering was so visible . I'm not talking about the monkeys whose eyes you can just read too. The snow leopards, behind simple gates, are whistled and yelled at non-stop by insensitive visitors. And the penguins and other birds of the ice floe, oh my god… they are crowded into a sort of aquarium with a false sky above their heads, without ever seeing (or having seen?) the light of day. There is a terrible smell. I have in mind a freeze frame of a Puffin (north Atlantic seabird) as if “laid” there and ready to die. 1.50m separates him from the false ice-ice ceiling above his head, he has certainly never flown. The distress in this animal's eyes, mixed with a sort of incomprehension of how he could be there, was difficult to watch. Sitting there with only blue neon lighting (best effect so that visitors “think they are on the ice floe”..?) A shock for New York.

Super nice place to hang out with the family Great structure, organized team. I loved seeing elderly people and young people participating in the workforce. Animals in environments suggesting their natural habitat. Congratulations to the entire team

A small zoo but a good option for children. We were left with seeing the animals from the movie Madagascar. Neither lion nor giraffe nor hippopotamus.
