Chef Jacquie’s tour is the perfect mix of the historical roots of South Philadelphia and amazing food. I’m a native Philadelphian with family links to the area; visiting my hometown with a group of friends from Texas. Really wanted my friends to experience this beloved area of the City but knew I couldn’t do it justice on my own. Chef Jacquie grew up in the neighborhood and is obviously very well respected by the local merchants on 9th Street. If you take one tour while in Philadelphia, do yourself a favor and savory the flavors with Chef Jacquie! This is not a rushed tour with a memorized speech. This is hands on, all questions answered, take your time, enjoy and feel free to shop. Honestly, for the cost you can’t go wrong considering you have a private well-traveled Professional Chef guiding you through the iconic heart of the Italian Market. Chef Jacquie has access to things that tourist walk by never knowing what they missed. By the end of the tour we all felt like we’d made a new friend and my group from Texas walked away with new found respect for the City of Brotherly Love. I really hit the jackpot booking a tour with Chef Jacquie and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Today we did the Sunday Dinner Italian Market Style! From appetizers to main course, desserts to relaxing, Italian style! Chef Jacqui showed us how it's done with everything you need found right in the Italian Market! Jacqui introduced us to places and tastes we never experienced before - and we grew up in Philly! Go figure! Thank you Jacqui for your stories, and history lessons, and for opening our eyes to all the Italian Market has to offer.

Jacquie was a personable guide and knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood -- she grew up there so she had a special passion for the people and the food. The managers of the shops were happy to see us come in and shared some of their wonderful treats. We weren't on our feet an inordinate amount of time, so I appreciated that, too.
