Tours take place rain or shine and meet in a different gallery for each tour. A message with the meeting location will be sent prior to the tour.
Your tour guide is licensed by New York City's Department of Consumer Affairs as a tour guide and is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA USA).
Some galleries have stairs. Please let us know in advance if you need to avoid stairs so we can make sure the itinerary is accessible.
Travelers should be able to stand and walk for two hours. Seating is usually not available.

On this 2-hour tour, you’ll visit approximately seven of the most important contemporary art gallery shows of the moment, seeing and discussing artwork in variety of media. Exhibitions change every five to six weeks, so there is always something new to see. Your itinerary will include a range of mega-galleries and smaller space showing artwork by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

Great experience - would do it again! Merrily arranged an itinerary and was knowledgeable of the neighborhood. it’s history, the gallery spaces, artwork and artists. It all made for an excellent experience. It would have taken us a tremendous amount of time to plan this out on our own, and we would have missed a lot without the complementary expertise and knowledge of the neighborhood. I left feeling comfortable enough to walk around on my own (and bring my family) another time - and eager to participate in one of Merrily’s other tours.

This is my 4th time taking the tour with Merrily. I have started to treat friends to a morning with Merrily for their birthdays and they have all been delighted with the tour Merrily pulls together. Her extensive knowledge of current exhibitions and the artists makes the 2 hours go quickly and leaves you wanting to return. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. The Chelsea tour is located in and around the High line and close by to Hudson Yards so easy to combine several events and make a day of it
