So I don’t know about the other shows, but the Monday night show we went to could definitely do some improving. Overall the show was fine, and the finale fire shows perhaps the best I’ve seen (and I’ve seen 3 on Oahu and 2 on the other islands). The food was average but nothing special, but they had decent options.
My main complaint was with the live music and sound. The instruments just didn’t blend well when they were singing and they were sooo loud you could not hear them singing. That, along with the fact that the volume was louder than a rock concert, made for a very unpleasant evening, especially when we were being serenaded while we ate. It was sooo loud my AppleWatch worked me that exposure to that level for 30 minutes could harm my hearing (I’m not joking).
I chased this up to a small time operation, but at the end the host thanked the sound and light person… I was floored that someone was listening to what I was and thought it sounded good. I mean LOUD doesn’t make it better… it just makes it loud.
The setting, as other references have commented, is set inside Wet-n-Wild. It wasn’t terrible, but clearly had a theme park feel.
All this together puts my experience compared to the other 4 Luau’s I’ve been to, and a rather high price per person, places this at the bottom of my list. End of the day, I’d never go again
