The tour is informative and you do cover a fair amount of ground so that you see a lot of Chinatown and North Beach, but ours lasted four hours we finished up at 10 at night and we were stuffed to the gills after having eaten large helpings at three restaurants, plus the tea tasting and fudge tasting stops. I think a shorter tour that doesn't make you feel like a stuffed crab would be better. Moreover, a tour led by a non-Chinese outsider is always going to be lacking, for you don't get the perspective that only an insider can give. So overall, this is a good tour, but not great.
TOUR OPERATOR FEEDBACK:
Thank you for joining us and your feedback. We always try to tailor each tour for our guests. This includes adding special stops when our guests request them or when we find out about a special place that might be open. We want each of our food stops to be phenomenal, so we include a wide variety of Chinese and Italian food. As we’re from San Francisco and from the neighborhood, we want our tour guests to experience Chinatown and North Beach\Little Italy from a local’s perspective.
Additionally, we end at a great place where we get wine and pizza, but also where our guests can relax and socialize with their friends and other tour guests. For example, while the tour has ended, our guests can relax and socialize for however time that they like. As a result, our guests can have a great tour and an enjoyable evening after the tour. Between the tour and the optional socializing after the tour, the evening may be a little longer than our guests originally planned. We’ll try to find a better way to let our tour guests about this, so the evening does not extend longer than they would like.
Thank you again for joining and for your feedback. We’ll use it to improve the tour.
Dana was great. The food stops were plentiful but the hi light was the fortune cookie factory. It was fun to see how they are made.
