My husband and I were lucky enough to have a private tour with Dorothy, who was born and raised in Chinatown. She was so passionate about Chinatown and it was so captivating listening to her speak about the history and people of the neighborhood. We visited several different places, and the highlight was the Tea Room. I am a fan of British tea services, but had never known much about Asian tea culture and was delighted to learn. You also visit a market, herbalist, and temple. There's no stops for souvenir-shopping, so if that's something you want to do, make sure to leave time afterwards (we didn't and were disappointed). The lunch at the end with Dorothy was so perfect. It was great talking to her and learning about her life and the different struggles her ancestors faced. The actual lunch was at Four Seas restaurant. I've read other reviews that it's not good, but we thought it was great. I think we were given about seven or eight different dim sum tastings and a dessert. All in all, a definite must-do if you're interested in different cultures and history.
