Had a great trip by bike with my son. Two tour guides. Nice and knowledgable dudes. We got a lot of interesting information from them. About the history of the city, the people that live there and last but not least the best taco places in town. A perfect way to explore the city in three hours, get a good impression of the character of Philly and to get good tips about things that the locals do, where they eat, drink and hang out. And I live in this city. Next time I have friends or family coming over I will advise them to make this tour.

Philadelphia is home to many different neighborhoods as well as sites of historical significance but it can be difficult to navigate an urban area in a car or motorized tour with all the traffic. Enter Philly Bike Tour Company - easily the best way to see a city from a new vantage point as well as hitting all the hot tourist spots. The tour $45 includes the rental of a bicycle, helmet, lock (if requested), and a souvenir water bottle. The bicycles are very comfortable - 7 speeds, lightweight but stable, upright riding position, and comfortable saddle. The ride itself was predominately on roads with bike lanes or on the bike path. Tours are rated Super Easy to Advanced, but most are Easy. This is great for anyone who is not a super-hardcore-cyclist - and even for those who are but want to take it easy and see the sites. Thom was our tour guide and he made us feel very welcome in the city. Josh was our sweep and keep the conversations going while assisting in making sure every cyclist was able to get through intersections. At no point did I feel uncomfortable riding on the city streets on this tour. We hit a dozen major tourist points of interest in about three hours, including a short food stop in the Italian Market. I honestly wish this service had been around this past summer when my in-laws were visiting. I would have loved to take them on this tour. I encourage all who live or visit Philadelphia to take a tour through Philly Bike Tours Company.
