Leaving from the Clearwater Beach Marina, directly across the street from Pier 60 , Tropics Boat Tours offer one of the best Clearwater Beach boat ride experiences imaginable. Daytime dolphin exploration tours and a sunset tour offers timing that is sure to work work for you, family, friends aka children of all ages! From the moment you prepare to get on the newly remodeled tropical themed, double decker vessel, leis are placed around your neck and a boarding photo is taken, you instantly feel excited to get onboard and to get going on the 1.45 hour trip which lies ahead! The boats two levels allow you to either be outside in the sun or underneath in the shade. The people that work on the vessel are so much fun and quite engaging! They tell wonderful stories about the local area, marine life, point out local homes of famous people and locals who live or have lived here here and interesting tidbits about the area and it's architecture. The best part of taking this trip with Tropics is the guaranteed dolphin sightings! In addition, they offer children's activities and drink packages all while sailing on the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico. I have been out with the Tropics Boat Tour countless times and have to tell you as a resident of Clearwater Beach, I learn something new every time and enjoy it even more than the time before. This tour was very much fun. We got to see many dolphins, even a baby. The boat was comfortable and the crew knew the area, which made it interesting.

Purchased our voucher through Groupon. Using the voucher via the Internet was very easy. Received a prompt response and verification of the date & time we wanted. We chose to avoid the beach traffic and parked at Coachman Park, then took the Clearwater Ferry to the beach marina. Received a 25% discount on the r/t price when we showed our tour voucher confirmation. We did have to ask where the Tropics dock was as we arrived at the far end of the marina. Check-in went very smoothly. We chose to stay right at the marina for lunch. We arrived back app. 15 minutes before the time we were told to be back and found many folks already waiting to board. We chose to take the tour from the upper deck and had a great tour guide.....Zack.Once out into the Gulf of Mexico we saw many whales and some calcalves with their moms. We heard an informative narration of who once lived in some of the beautiful properties along the tour route. The staff was very attentive . Beverages were available for purchase at reasonable prices. We did miss our ferry connection, as it was leaving the other end of the marina as we were arriving back from the tour. So rather than wait an hour we paid to take the Jolley Trolley back to Coachman Park parking lot (losing our r /t fee for the ferry). We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and viewing all the dolphins, we definitely recommend the tour (especially with a nice savings via Groupon!!!)
