This visit was surprisingly disappointing. After great days at Jamestown Settlement and the History Museum at Yorktown, I had high expectations. We came to Colonial Williamsburg on a Sunday and there was very little going on. They schedule few talks/demonstrations on Sunday (apparently). I say this based on the printed schedule. All the shops were open (no surprise there) but many of the buildings were closed in the middle of a nice day. Even though the place was not busy, the lines in the visitor center were long and disorganized. The whole place did not seem well staffed, indoors or out. For $50, you should leave there feeling like you had a good experience. I didn't.

The most interesting and pleasant aspect of Colonial Williamsburg is watching & talking with the people who exhibit the trades of the era. The last trip there was about 30 yrs ago. It was gratifying to see the updates.

I have been here several times. I enjoy the history and the environment. It is interesting to ponder what times were like then. I will say that things have slipped some since our last visit and the is not as much focus on the history. Some of the interpreters kept stating their opinions and not what actually happened or what the actual history.
