One of your bits of information reads,
"Suggested duration [of visit]
More than 3 hours"
What are you thinking?
My father was Director of Architecture for CW in the 60s.
We lived in the John Greenhow House on Duke of Gloucester Street.
For over 50 years, we have visited for several weeks each year and plan to soon move back.
We were married in the Wren Chapel, my wife and our first son were born in the old Bell Hospital on Cary Street.
But, I digress...
In all the years we lived in the restored area and during our countless visits, we did not begin to see it all.
Recently, I was in the Information Center as a family approached one of the information kiosks.
They asked the interpreter, "We're only in town for one day; what can we see?"
The interpreter patiently explained what they might be able to see in one day and suggested a one-day pass.
After they left, I offered that, in one day, they should best spend their time buying a house.
I'm reminded of the tour busses that used to come from the DC area so that people could buy stuff from Jimmy Maloney at The Pottery.
And, they said that they had been to Williamsburg...

Thank you Steve for your kind reflection on Colonial Williamsburg. We are delighted to hear from you and that your father was part of our great heritage. We look forward to when you and your family move back to Williamsburg and become part of our community again. It is also very special to hear about your wedding day being at the Wren Chapel. A real treasure. We welcome you back when you are ready to come back home to Virginia. Thank you for your suggestion to future visitors. Kind regards.
