This was a perfect casual walking day trip around the downtown Avenida Revolucion area of Tijuana. Easy walking with a number of stops for photos and an introduction to some of the highlights and history of Tijuana. Start the morning with the pedestrian border crossing from San Diego into Mexico. Tour guide will meet you on U.S. side to escort you over, but it is quite possible you may be instructed to cross on your own if the guide is delayed from the Mexico side. Dont worry! The border crossing is straight forward and easy to do on your own. Upon meeting the tour group it is a short transport ride into Centro Tijuana for the walking tour which lasts approx 4 hrs. Stops along for excellent taco lunch, tequila tasting, shopping, then refreshment drinks to cap off the afternoon. Margarita time! Our excellent and personable guide was Tadeo. He was fantastic company and does very well to make the tour group welcome, friendly, and always happy to answer questions. Don't pass up his offers to be your photographer. Afternoon ends with escort back to the pedestrian border crossing back to the U.S. This line can get very long. Sentri or Global Entry will get you through fast. But if you don't have those access be prepared to wait in line anywhere for a while. Time really depends upon the line any given day. Ask guide for their estimate, but likely anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Final thoughts: this is a great introduction to Tijuana if you are looking for a nice half day tour. Don't pass up picking up a few souvenirs, tequila tasting was truly a variety of small sip tastes and should be tried!
