As a native San Franciscian, Mike’s (and Oakley’s) knowledge of San Francisco history is impressive. His ability to share that history and the nuisances of it is amazing, especially for more than two hours. I was very pleased that he talked about the challenges of the Chinese Americans during the early days of SF. Thank you sharing that. It was important to me he shared that with the others in the group. It was really fun to learn about the ghostly details of the various places we stopped and the people who ‘lived’ there. We highly recommend Mike’s and Oakley’s tour. Super informative and super fun! We’ll go again. We went on their tour on Monday, October 14, 2024.

I live in the bay area and I was researching things to do. I found this tour thinking it could be really good or really bad. I’m thankful to say it was really good! It was worth so much more than we paid for it (so please remember to tip the guide). The tour was full of fascinating stories of the rich and powerful back in the day. The names of these famous figures are the builders and founders of many of the hotels in the area. Presidents, the Gold Rush, 1906 earthquake. He also talked about the beatniks and stories about a few authors and interesting facts about their works. I’m not even a history buff but I found it all so entertaining and informative. Of course sprinkled with some ghost stories and unexplained happenings. I missed the name of our guide but he had his little dog who joined us on the tour as well. I highly recommend and plan to do some research on some of the stories he told!
